Pressure Regulator for Hydrogen Refueling Stations – The Swagelok® Ramp Regulator Enhances Safety in Hydrogen Fueling

The Swagelok® Ramp Regulator is specifically designed for the demanding conditions of hydrogen refuelling stations. It withstands rapid temperature and pressure fluctuations and provides precise, controlled pressure regulation during vehicle refuelling in accordance with SAE J2601.

The patented removable cartridge design allows for quick maintenance without removing the regulator from the system.

Also suitable for other industrial applications where high pressures and high flows are required.

Note: Not suitable as a shut-off valve.

  • Temperature range: -40...85 °C

  • Connections: 9/16" cone and thread or 1/2" Swagelok® FK tube fitting

  • 316 SS (ASTM A276/A479): body, internal parts and valve body
  • 316 SS (ASTM A313): valve spring
  • FKM: O-rings
  • Fluorinated PTFE-based lubricant

Testing and reliability

  • Body leak test: 1,25 × pressure range (<10 cm³/h H₂-equivalent)
  • Hydraulic strength test: 3 × pressure range
  • Endurance test: 122 000 cycles (nitrogen, 1050 bar in / 875 bar out)
