FM 4, 6 & 8 Hose Assemblies

As part of Swagelok's continuous process improvement, the FM 4, 6 and 8 hose assemblies will be upgraded.

These assemblies will move from the current Capweld structure to the new Uniweld structure as the Capweld structure is phased out. The aim of this change is to simplify Swagelok's supply chain, which will help to improve delivery performance and reduce lead times.

The pressure and temperature ratings, overall lengths and part numbers of the finished hose assemblies will remain unchanged. The change in A dimension is taken into account by adjusting the live length of the hose to maintain the overall length of the assembly.

The pictures below illustrate the differences between the old Capweld (left) and the new Uniweld (right).

Dimension A is defined as shown in the diagram below.

The table below shows the variation of the A-dimension according to different hose sizes and end fitting types. A positive value indicates a lengthening of the A dimension and a negative value indicates a shortening.
